Open the box (continued)
What I found was that if you change computers, you absolutely need the original CDs and their boxes if you are to have any hope of reinstalling the programs. That's the only way you can guarantee that you have the correct serial number. Buying stuff over the internet may be quicker, and therefore great for people who don't have time for deferred gratification, but it's a pain in the long run when it comes to software.

Lao Tzu
According to Lao Tzu, those who know do not talk, and those who talk do not know. I've noticed that this is absolutely true in modern life. For some reason, people feel perfectly unabashed at pontificating in areas they know nothing about. I'll explain more next time, if I can be bothered.

Open the box
I hate buying software by mail order or in a shop. Why? Because the packaging weighs a ton, and takes up half the car boot, but when you open the box all there is is a single CD and an ultra thin instruction manual.
But I have discovered that purchasing online has its own peculiar pitfalls -- and not just the obvious ones.
